Wearables Metrics & Trend Method

This page explains the measurements displayed in your dashboard and how trend indicators are calculated.

Trend Calculation

  • We apply a light smoothing (3‑point rolling median) to reduce spikes.
  • We fit a simple linear slope over the selected time range (Today / 7 days / 30 days).
  • Δ% is computed relative to the series median over that window: Δ% = (slope × window) / median × 100.
  • Δ is the absolute change over the window in the metric’s native units.
  • Stability thresholds: Today shows direction only; 7 days stable if |Δ%| < 2%; 30 days stable if |Δ%| < 1%.

Metric Polarity

The color and arrow indicate whether changes are generally favorable:

  • Heart Rate (HR, bpm) and Resting HR (bpm): lower is usually better at rest.
  • HRV (RMSSD/SDNN, ms): higher is generally better.
  • Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂, %): higher is better.
  • Respiratory Rate (breaths/min): lower may be better at rest; large drifts warrant attention.
  • Steps (count): higher is better.

Notes

  • Short windows (e.g., Today) are more volatile and may reflect acute activity.
  • Trends are informational and not medical advice. Discuss concerns with your clinician.
